Common pregnancy worries
All women worry about their pregnancy to some extent - and their partners worry too.
Your worries may seem irrational and you may believe you are alone with your fears - but you are not. Take every opportunity to discuss your concerns with your midwife or doctor. It wont be the first time they have heard anxieties like yours and they will be glad to offer information and reassurance. Joining an antenatal class can be of enormous benefit. You can get answers to your questions and talk to others who may have similar worries. Chatting to parents can help too. You will probably find they feel much the same as you.
- Is my baby alright? Every parent worries about this and of course there are no guaranteess. But be positive because chances are everything will be fine.
- How will I cope with labour? Probably better than you imagine, especially if you are well prepared and informed.
- Will I be a capable parent? I don't think any of us ever feels truly capable - just as you think you have it sussed something catches you out. Don't be too hard on yourself!
